In January 2026, the time has come once again: JAGEN UND FISCHEN opens the new season. Under the motto “Experience Nature” and with Hubert Aiwanger as patron, the popular public fair will once again offer a wide-ranging program, making it the first point of contact for hunters, anglers, and nature enthusiasts.

As every year, the highlights of the fair include the well-known themed experience areas dedicated to hunting, hunting dogs with numerous dog demonstrations, and fishing. The two forums offer visitors expert knowledge, lectures, panel discussions, and opportunities for direct exchange with specialists: the Hunters’ Forum features practical and professionally grounded presentations, while the Anglers’ Forum provides up-to-date industry information and talks by renowned angling and fisheries experts. In addition, the South German Casting Sport Championship will take place for the fifth time. Beginners and professionals alike can compete here and improve their target casting skills.

The Fish and Game show kitchens in Halls 1 and 3 will also be returning, offering culinary variety and enjoyment on all three days. Dishes are prepared live, and visitors are invited not only to watch but also to sample them – an experience for all the senses.

New this year

Brand new is the fly-casting zone in Hall 1. Here, visitors can not only watch demonstrations but also gain their first hands-on experience with a fly rod under professional guidance. In addition, the University of Rostock will present exciting lectures in the Anglers’ Forum and showcase an innovative form of fish farming at its stand: aquaponics, a complex circular system that combines hydroponics and aquaculture.

The outdoor area once again invites visitors to the popular bird of prey flight show, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, while the Future Forest brings a piece of nature into the exhibition hall and vividly illustrates forest development. The program is complemented by film premieres, expert lectures, a prize draw with non-cash prizes donated by exhibitors, a discovery guide for children, and much more.
